Rotary Absolute Encoders

RLS has developed the AksIM™ range of non-contact absolute magnetic encoders, where the information carrier is a scale magnetized in an innovative way, while the magnetic field detection and signal processing are done by a custom magnetic sensor ASIC and a microprocessor within a compact readhead. The AksIM™ encoders are true absolute, meaning that the absolute position is acquired immediately upon switch-on which eliminates the need for reference returns.

Based on Hall sensor technology the AksIM™ magnetic encoders use 5 V power supply and offer many different output signal formats: digital SSI, PWM, serial RS422 and CAN. In addition to the position information, the status of the measurement is also provided by real time monitoring of several internal parameters.
